What will the photos be used for?

Photographs will generally be sold under a Royalty Free Licence agreement. They are used in digital and print materials, such as books, brochures, ebooks, leaflets, newspapers, magazines, and websites, etc.

Stock photography agencies have very strict rules (TOS – Terms of Service) about what buyers can use the images for. For example, buyers MAY NOT:

“Use an Image together with pornographic, defamatory, or otherwise unlawful or immoral content or in such a manner that it infringes upon any third party's trademark or intellectual property.”

“Use an Image in a way that places any person in the photo in a bad light or depicts them in a way that they may find offensive - this includes, but is not limited to: a) the use of Images in pornography; b) tobacco ads; c) ads for adult entertainment clubs or similar venues, or for escort, dating or similar services; d) political endorsements; e) advertisements for pharmaceutical products, including, but not limited to personal hygiene or birth control products; and f) uses that are defamatory, or contain otherwise unlawful, offensive or immoral content.”

Shutterstock is the main stock agency I supply. Their TOS for buyers can be found here. If you require information about the TOS from other stock photography agencies, I can email you information about these too.
